Section 02

What We Collect

When you make a booking we collect the following information:

  • Your full name and contact details (email address and phone number)
  • Your wedding date and venue details
  • Your billing and delivery address
  • Payment information (processed securely via Stripe; we do not store your full card details)

We do not collect any special category data (such as health information or political views).

Section 03

Why We Use It

We use your information to process your booking, arrange delivery and collection of the telephone, and take payment. Our lawful basis is the performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR).

We may also send a brief follow-up after your wedding to ask how everything went and to request a review. You can opt out of this at any time by replying to any of our messages or emailing us directly.

Section 04

Who We Share It With

We only share your data with:

  • Stripe, our payment processor, to securely handle your card payment
  • Delivery partners, where we use a courier to transport equipment to your venue

Both are bound by appropriate data processing agreements. We do not sell your data or share it for marketing purposes.

Section 05

How Long We Keep It

We keep your booking record for 6 years following your wedding date, in line with standard contract limitation periods under English law. After that period your data is securely deleted.

Section 06

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Request deletion of your data (where we are not legally required to keep it)
  • Restrict or object to its processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format

To make a request, email us at hello@somethingborrowed.co.uk and we will respond within one calendar month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

Section 07

Policy Changes

If we update this policy we will post the revised version on our website with an updated date. For material changes we will contact you directly if your booking has not yet taken place.
